Platform requirements calendar

Store requirements change every year. These are the dates that matter for Android and Flutter apps; the audit tells you which ones apply to yours. Last checked 22 Oct 2026.

28 Apr 2026 — App Store uploads must be built with Xcode 26 and the version 26 SDK (already in effect).
31 Aug 2026 (extension available to 1 Nov 2026) — New apps and updates on Google Play must target Android 16 (API 36). Play Billing Library 7 reaches its deprecation date.
27 Jan 2027 — Google Play policy changes: geofencing, contacts access, location permissions, call-log verification.
1 Feb 2027 — Google Play requires 16 KB page size support for apps with native code.
April 2027 (Apple has not published the day) — Expected: App Store uploads built with the iOS 27 SDK (Xcode 27).
August 2027 — Google has said new apps and updates must target Android 17 (API 37).

Apps that target below API 35 are hidden from new users on newer Android devices. Existing users keep the app. They are not removed from the store.

Send us your Play Store or App Store link, and read-only access to the source code. We find out what is blocking releases — platform requirements, dead dependencies, what the upgrade will break, and which store changes are coming for your app in the next 12 months — and send a written report with a fixed quote for the fix. With only the published build, you get a price range instead of a fixed quote. If it's a simple job, we say so.

Handover Audit

Took over an app whose developer has left? Adds a dependency map and a ranked list of risks to the audit. Needs source access and is credited toward the fix too.

After the fix, a Care Plan keeps your app compliant and shippable through every store cycle.
